چکیده
We present the Monte-Carlo events Data Base (MCDB) project and its development plans. MCDB facilitates communication between authors of Monte-Carlo generators and experimental users. It also provides a convenient book-keeping and an easy access to generator level samples. The first release of MCDB is now operational for the CMS collaboration. In this paper we review the main ideas behind MCDB and discuss future plans to develop this Data Base further within the CERN LCG framework.

In this paper we report on LCG Monte-Carlo Data Base (MCDB) and software which has been developed to operate MCDB. The main purpose of the LCG MCDB project is to provide a storage and documentation system for sophisticated event samples simulated for the LHC collaborations by experts. In many cases, the modern Monte-Carlo simulation of physical processes requires expert knowledge in MonteCarlo ...

The cross sections for several γγ → V V processes exhibit strong enhancements near threshold, where V denotes a vector meson. The pattern of these enhancements is not well understood; for example, γγ → ρρ shows an appreciable peak, while γγ → ρρ does not. Some possible mechanisms for this behavior are discussed. Tests are proposed involving production of systems containing heavier quarks, e.g.,...

We calculate the nuclear cross section for vector meson exclusive photoproduction within the QCD color dipole picture and in the Regge approach. For the first one, we have considered the phenomenological saturation model, whereas for the latter we use a model based on the dipole Pomeron framework. Theoretical estimates for both light and heavy nuclei are given over a large range of energies.

Moment analysis of global multiplicity distribution previously done for e+e− and hh processes is applied to hA and AA collisions. The oscillations of cumulants as functions of their rank are found in all the cases. Some phenomenological approaches and quark-gluon string models are confronted to experimental data. It has been shown that the analysis is a powerful tool for revealing the tiny feat...
